Favoritism

I have no doubt that there's favoritism in the court system. As someone who got into law to do the proverbial 'right thing' in every case, it's beyond frustrating to see it in action from people who are in positions of power.

I can relate to and sympathize with people who feel that they do not have a voice, or who perceive double standards, in the system. As I sometimes tell my clients, going to see a judge is certainly not going to see God. One cannot remove the human element from the process, with all the flaws and biases, implicit or explicit, inherently involved. Acknowledgment of that reality does not do much to excuse it.
