Exodus from Honduras
We who are Americans should do a better job at understanding the causes of the exodus from Central America.
The exodus has been the focus of a lot of media attention. But on what has the media focused? Answer: on the imagery propounded by the president (which I won't dignify by repeating in detail) of a 'caravan' approaching the southern border, and really nothing more.
What has the media failed to focus on? Answer: why these fellow human beings have left the only home they've ever known, and why they would risk attempting to go to a country whose president is openly hostile against emigrants like them.
For the answer to at least the first question, I urge you to please read this article published today: "Hondurans continue to flee one year after post-election crackdown."
"Trod through great tribulation . . ." -- Exodus, by Bob Marley and the Wailers. God bless these people who have left behind great tribulation and who trod through, and towards, more great tribulation.
"You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor." Exodus 20:16. My dear Americans, do not deny Hondurans' truth and reality! Do not be blinded by charlatans! See the whole picture and speak truth!
