Happy New Year Philadelphia!

January 2, 2015

"To measure you by your smallest deed is to reckon the power of ocean by the frailty of its foam.
To judge you by your failures is to cast blame upon the seasons for their inconstancy." -- Kahlil GibranThe Prophet, p. 86

As we look back at the year that just passed, it's important to forgive: to forgive those who have trespassed against us and just as importantly to forgive ourselves of our own sins.  A new year is a great time to learn from those mistakes, make a fresh positive start, and resolve to do things in a new or different way.

The field of law -- from the types of legal problems to the parties and sometimes even the lawyers involved -- is characterized by conflict and opposition, and in extreme cases hate.  In that environment, there may be a tendency to allow the other side to tear us down, when they focus on 'the frailty of our foam.'

As a lawyer, I promise to work hard toward the goal of justice in every case: the right result based on the facts as applied to the law.  But I encourage you to start fresh this year, and forgive, in order to reach the goal of peace.

Many blessings to you in 2015!
